Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Makes Statement About earthquake in Chile and its impact on PWD
The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disability of the United Nation, from now will be referred to as “the Committee”;
RIADIS, the Latin American disability Rights movement and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
RIADIS’ Executive Committee met in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 9 and 10, 2010. The purpose of the meeting was to analyse various issues related to the network’s development. The meeting was implemented within the framework of ideas and concepts expressed in this declaration, which we transcribe in the Editor’s Note of the present issue of RIADIS in Action.
International Forum About Legal Capacity And Supported Decision Making
The Colombian city of Bogota was the setting for the successful forum about legal capacity and supported decision making, organized by Inclusion International (II) and its Colombian counterpart ASDOWN, on April 20 and 21, 2010.
RIADIS Executive Committee holds Successful Meeting In Buenos Aires, Argentina
RIADIS’ Executive Committee held a meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 9 and 10, with the purpose of discussing several issues in a broad agenda. The purpose of the meeting was to analyse their strategies aimed at building their disability rights advocacy and promotion work, in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Holds its Third period of sessions
The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities met at the United Nations in Geneva from 22 to 26 February 2010. The Committee is composed of 12 Committee members and chaired by Mr. Ronald McCallum.
Constitutional Court declares The UN Convention in Law
After waiting for a year and a half, Colombia’s Constitutional Court declared the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to be in law. The resolution was published on April 22, 2010.
